The Farm
We are located 8 miles East of Macklin on Highway 14. Ayrey Farms is on its third generation of farming and cattle. Currently we farm about 4500 Acres and calve out about 150 head of registered purebred horned hereford cattle. We use a mix of PCU and MWL tattoos keeping approximately 30 replacement heifers every year and then sell about 40-50 heifer calves and 30-40 2-year-old bulls between the annual Premier Hereford Bull Sale in Lloydminster, Medicine Hat Bull Show & Sale and off the farm. The Premier Sale is in conjunction with Lock Farms and Ace Herefords. Recently, our daughter Shana and her husband Cole have moved a house onto the farm and are in the process of becoming partners in the farm and cattle operations. We are always available for a call or visit. Give us a shout if you would like to come and tour the farm or have a look at the cow herd or upcoming sale bulls!
The Family
Bill is the oldest sibling in his family. Good thing as he was blessed with 4 younger sisters. His dad passed away in 1988 and that is when Bill stepped up and took over the family farm and cattle business. Bill's mom, Evelyn recently moved to Macklin but still comes out to the farm as often as she can. Bill and Wendy got married in 1978 and had 3 daughters. The oldest daughter Shana and husband Cole have recently moved onto the farm. Shana is an independent agronomist for her company called SMF, while Cole now helps run the farm as well as a commercial herd of his own. They have 2 sons, Kadin and Carson and a daughter, Halie! Shana likes to help out at the cattle shows and managing crop plans for the farm. The middle daughter Jinaye lives in Lloydminster, is married to Mike and they have 2 son's named Jace & Nash. She works at McElhanney Land Surveys as a Geomatics Technician. Jinaye has been actively involved in sports, including going to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2013 for Team Saskatchewan. She also helps look after the cattle books and bull sale. The youngest daughter Kendall and her husband Aaron live in Lloydminster and she works as a Community Development Coordinator at the Inclusion Lloydminster & Alberta. Kendall gets out to the farm often and is always up for checking or working on the cattle. Her and Aaron have a son, Whitley and daughter, Cami!
